I became interested in psychology at the age of nine years old in Guatemala City in my country of origin. My auntie was a psychologist; she was my inspiration for developing a deep passion and curiosity for understanding human emotions and the psyche. She supported me with family challenges I was going through, which made me curious about how to become a marriage and family therapist once I grew up. My journey to helping people through the healing process and embracing uniqueness is founded on passion, life experiences, and research on how the mind and body work and how resilience can be built. I have worked in various mental health settings, including publicly-funded community clinics as well as private practice settings.
